Hello Fellow Snowarrior –

On March 8th a short meeting of the IL Snowarriors was held after a great steak roast at Byron Park. Twenty nine adults and 7 kids attended. Too bad it poured rain all day instead of lots of snow.

President Doug Wells reported the following:

All of the new trails proposed by the Nature Conservancy seem to be a go.

> The club has purchased a drag for $600.00 and a Scandic machine
> and drag for $600.00 from Speculator. Andy is working on the machines.
> The Club wanted to thank Andy and Doug for all their work in dealing
> with grooming. Andy made a motion to buy Doug's machine to groom for
> $2200.00. Bob seconded and the club passed the motion.
>
> As of March 1st the town has agreed to let the 20 volunteers groom
> the trails at night. We are doing the headquarters trail and the
> groomer will be parked at the Arctic Cat shop. Its about a 4 hour round
> trip to groom and the volunteers will have to have a training on running
> the equipment. There is a two million dollar insurance policy thru NYS
> snowmobile assoc. There is state funding for grooming trails and grants
> for new groomers, and we'll check it out next year.
>
> Our clubs incorporation papers from 1967 state that we need a 5
> member board of directors. The following members have agreed to serve.
> ED Bartczak, Karl Brinkman, George McCane, Tony Amato, and Bob Marriott
>
> Bob Marriott is the chairman of the float committee for the towns
> parade on August 8th. The theme is "Remember When" and we can use old
> snowmobiles, etc. Send your ideas to Bob and they will meet August 2nd
> to organize.
>
> Meeting adjourned at 2:50 Report submitted by Peg Brinkman
