Hello Fellow Snowarrior –
On March 8th a short meeting of the IL Snowarriors was held after a great steak roast at Byron Park. Twenty nine adults and 7 kids attended. Too bad it poured rain all day instead of lots of snow.
President Doug Wells reported the following:
All of the new trails proposed by the Nature Conservancy seem to be a go.
> The club has purchased a drag for $600.00 and a Scandic machine > and drag for $600.00 from Speculator. Andy is working on the machines. > The Club wanted to thank Andy and Doug for all their work in dealing > with grooming. Andy made a motion to buy Doug's machine to groom for > $2200.00. Bob seconded and the club passed the motion. > > As of March 1st the town has agreed to let the 20 volunteers groom > the trails at night. We are doing the headquarters trail and the > groomer will be parked at the Arctic Cat shop. Its about a 4 hour round > trip to groom and the volunteers will have to have a training on running > the equipment. There is a two million dollar insurance policy thru NYS > snowmobile assoc. There is state funding for grooming trails and grants > for new groomers, and we'll check it out next year. > > Our clubs incorporation papers from 1967 state that we need a 5 > member board of directors. The following members have agreed to serve. > ED Bartczak, Karl Brinkman, George McCane, Tony Amato, and Bob Marriott > > Bob Marriott is the chairman of the float committee for the towns > parade on August 8th.
